Dream Land

Mehuli Mukherjee

Class-8 Section-B

That night after reading few pages of my book I kept it beside my pillow, laying quietly in the dark and lonely room I asked myself whether fairies really exists. If yes, why doesn’t it take me to the fairyland away from the concrete jungle and keep me there forever. I had been asking myself the same question from past few years. Puzzled and confused with these questions I closed my eyes and entered into a tunnel of darkness. As the morning cock crowed, I opened my eyes and saw that, everything was very different. The sky had beautiful birds flying, the trees were full of sweets, and beside me a stream of hot chocolate was flowing. I was overjoyed at seeing all these. Soon a beautiful maiden came up to me and introduced herself as the queen of this amazing land. This land was named Fairytopia and all the beautiful fairies lived here. My eyes were filled with tears of joy as my years old dream had finally come true.  After a while, a flying horse came up to us and as soon we sat on it, it started to fly. The horse flew over grassland and candy trees; it went high above the ice cream Mountains and the chocolate houses.  It took us to far off places and each and every fairy was busy doing some or the other thing.  Finally all three of us entered the royal palace. In the centre of the palace a throne made of gold and diamonds was placed.  This was for the queen to sit.  Next to it, there were a few more chairs for the ministers. The interior walls of the castle were beautifully decorated with gold, diamond, rubies and gems.  The entire palace was neat and tidy.  Next, I was taken to the royal dining table. The table was filled with delicious foods. There were breads and pizzas, ice-cream and milk.  There was juice and candies also.  I ate to my heart’s content.  After that we went for a short walk. The fairy queen and I came upon many choco pie trees and ice-cream mountains.  The candy house greeted our eyes as we crossed them all. At last we reached a lonely place, where there was situated a beautiful chocolate stream.  While walking across the stream I suddenly fell down in the boiling hot chocolate and a terrible pain in my hand compelled me to open my eyes.   As I opened my eyes I realized that, actually I fell from my bed and was badly hurt.

Later, that morning, I found a red box kept below my pillow.  On opening the box, I found a small piece of paper, written on it “See you soon in Fairytopia”.
